My own journey back to painting began while hiking the Annapurna Circuit in the Himalayas. I realised that photographs could show what the mountains looked like - but not how it felt to be there.

My contemporary mountain paintings are inspired by the atmosphere, light and emotion of high-altitude landscapes - from the Himalayas to the Alps I've explored on foot.
Working in oils, I combine expressive colour, layered skies and semi-abstract mountain forms to capture more than simply what a landscape looks like. I want each painting to evoke the feeling of being there - the changing light, distant peaks and sense of space you remember long after returning home.
Every original mountain painting is created by hand in my London studio, making each piece completely unique.
